Threaded is a very simple Mastodon client, that is meant to look like the newest social media Threads made by Meta Platforms. It integrates perfectly with your Mastodon account, and matches the Threads vibe, while having Mastodon-only features.
Threaded is free, open-source, available on iOS and has a little integration with watchOS, and is made in pure SwiftUI.

I tried it out—it’s ok. Seems a little laggy on my end overall.

Eww Threads. Why would anyone want to look like that crap.
8 billion people, you do you. Also are we really complaining about more choices? In the spirit of FOSS, choice is good YMMV no prob
Also it’s easier to onboard new people when the UI closely resembles what they’re used to.
Everything zuck touches dies and is absorbed into zuck.
The look and feel of an application really does matter a lot. When Reddit’s API got shut down and I couldn’t use RIF anymore I tried using Reddit’s own app. It sucked. It felt awful. It’s extremely possible that if Reddit’s app felt close to something I was used to I wouldn’t have ended up swapping to Lemmy. So, if we want people to use Mastodon instead of Threads, why are you upset someone is making an app that uses Mastodon while looking like Threads?
Ready for them to start contributing to ActivityPub!? Because thats what is coming next! I wonder what happens after that?
They get an urge to install Linux on an old ThinkPad while wearing colourful long socks?
EEE
But its cool. We’ll just pretend they dont so this every time.
Beware of the pipeline: open source programming -> Linux -> IBM thinkpad -> programmer socks -> taking E
