  • This sounds more like personal issues than a “man vs women” issue.

Believe me men are not as privilige or care free as you make it out to be. Men struggle with their own problems too. They’re just better at hiding their pain and sorrows because they are taught to do so.

From a man’s perspective they may see a woman’s life as being way easier because a man is expected to bare more responsibility and women seem like they get handed everything on silver platter.

Now this could vary depending on where you are from. For instance if you were from china women might be worse off or if from certain states or regions of america, men might struggle more. In america men have a higher suicide rate and more likely to face homelessness.

Many men struggle with knowing who to turn to for help and many face such prejudices as men bad by default and societal norms pampering to women needs.

Though would like to point out altenative issues that’s not just about what your sex is. Perhaps the bigger issues is that of the wealth gap between classes and the whole men vs women thing is but a diversion to divide people by having them fighting among each other rather than face the issues of elitest manipulating both men and women.

I think we should focus more on sympathesizing with eachothers struggles, but also understanding maybe things aren’t always as we lead ourselves to believe them to be. Good and bad behaviors are not exclusive to what one’s sex is. There are bad men, there bad women, there are good men, there are good women. Remember this.

I know life can be hard, and is tempting to point fingers when in stressful times. I hope you find means to put yourself at ease. Also please don’t blame men for being men. They can be fools sometimes. If you get to know them for their character apart from just being a guy i think you’ll come realize men come in all sorts of variety of personalities apart from each other. A select few couldn’t possibly represent the entirety of the whole male population.

    Good luck to you.

  • Ah sea. clever in it’s sense of multi-language cryptid formation. I was seeing if anyone would noticed the sort of humor i was conveying that makes light mockery of a subset of people who place too much importance in other people’s grammar and spelling. Its meant to convey that the most important aspect of the language is that as long as there is mutual understanding in their meaning, the spelling and grammar is nothing to make a big deal about. Language in itself doesn’t abide to an absolute rule. We just need to understand its meaning. Whether it’s “your” or “you’re” won’t matter too much for example.

  • I would hypothesize that people would start with strong psychic abilities in early stages of their life, but the longer we live the more these abilities dull or become loss all together. Not because of old age, but because the accumulated disruptions to our minds with passage of time (radio waves, internet, brainwash media, indoctrinations, etc). We are constantly bombarded with psychic disruptions passing through as well as being reprogrammed to lose our abilities through brainwashing and indoctrination. We are made to conform to arbitrary societal constructs that work against us without realizing it.

  • “which is a dog whistle that they’re tired of being yelled at for their shitty views” 🤨 you’re trolling right? Like @Jackthelad@lemmy.world says “they just wanna get away from politics” … not everyone cares to have a political opinion and likely just wanna avoid the hostility or nuances that comes with politics discussion. I myself would rather see to much more pleasant things that isn’t just abunch chaos and steam. Wouldn’t you rather enjoy your time than to be a salty bitter lad?

  • “I like the way Lemmy functions, with things like an open moderator log and the way that instances can be created to prevent too much control from one singular instance from pushing people completely off the platform if they have bad moderation, for example.”

Oh yeah that seems an excellent way to keep a power balance between users and moderation. Hadn’t used reddit all that much, but heard of the nightmarish moderation abuse.

“I don’t like the users. For every one user that is nice and wants to have a legitimate conversation, there are like 300 that just want to fight/argue or spew politics into a non-political conversation.”

Sadly is a big issue with many platforms where politics is used for excuse to mental flex, invalidate, clout motives, and flat out bully. So i try to avoid politics or deflect and avoid people who just looking to argue for the sake of argueing to assert dominance. Too many headaches online deal with.

“The number of users I have blocked on Lemmy is far longer than the amount of users I ever blocked on Reddit, and my Reddit account existed for about 10 years.”

I might do the same tbh, i can see there are quite a bit of users needing filtered out on lemmy. Can also see some get angry knowing that people would rather just block em’ and not engage with them because then they can’t fuel their clout driven ego 🙂

“The problem with this is that particularly nasty users can keep creating accounts on instances they keep creating in order to harass people they don’t like. So even if you block them, they just switch to a new account, etc.”

Perhaps this could be resolved by implementing a user follow list and making it so users can only be interacted with if the user approves the follower who is trying to follow em’

“They can also do this for vote manipulation, not like that really matters on Lemmy but Lemmy users seem to have fallen victim to the same problem Redditors had: seeing a comment with 0 or -1 score and then completely disregarding whatever it said, not reading it and downvoting it automatically.”

Imo i think lemmy could just do away with a voting system, it would reduce cognitive bias by not giving them a sense of popularity contest to determine if it’s worth reading a user’s post or comment. People should judge for themselves rather than having others do it for them.

You seem a a reasonably decent person btw.
