Is this something you spend a lot of time thinking about?
Lmao

Nah, their earlier games had spirit. Oblivion is still one of my favorite open world fantasy games to date.
Starfield is just a soulless recycled scrap for money and hype.
Starfield killed all my hype for Bethesda’s future releases. Every step forward comes with a dozen steps back.
How long ago did Starfield come out, like 6+ months ago? And they’ve basically added an eat button back from previous games on the same engine, then left it to rot.
I can’t believe they are already trying to market ES6 and DLC for Starfield without even fixing that trash game first.
Guess how reddit started.
Similar boat, except my wife actually got hooked on FO76 a couple of months back and loved it.
I skip a lot of adaption shows or remakes, so she basically forced me to start it, but I wound up really enjoying it. We’re trying not to binge it all in a day, so I’m only halfway through, but I look forward to watching it.
Imagine living your life letting reddit be your filter for meaningful experience lmao.
Touch grass guy.
You’re not interested in the topic, you mean. You just want somebody to pitch a softball so you can swing, but were scared of the speed on that fast ball.
Quit. Maybe you can find some luck.
With 3x the amount of microtransactions than ever before!!!
I see a lot of MMOs being recommended, but I find them to be either shallow in combat or predatory unless you are seeking MMO specific things, so I’m going to point at single player/coop stuff.
Bethesda has a large selection of open world games, but I pretty much assume people have played all of them (Elder Scrolls / Fallout games).
If you are okay with going outside of Fantasy, the Far Cry series has some impressive technology in their older titles. Far Cry 2 is a personal favorite, your PC might be able to handle it.
Borderlands series.
The original Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen holds up. This is probably my best recommendation based on your asks.
Lego Star Wars or the Lego Marvel game.
Fable 1, 2, 3
The Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor / Shadow of War Games were pretty incredible but might be too high-end.
The first Red Dead Redemption might run for you.
Early Dark souls games might run. Maybe 1 or 2.
From here, I would start listing old Star Wars Jedi Knight series games.
I could probably go on, but this is most of the good stuff off the top of my head.
I forgot to add Mass Effect. Great for sci-fi, great leveling, and combat.
Portcrystals are not the same thing as ferrystones and are useless without them.
You are speaking from ignorance.
They give you some ferrystones in the game as well, but it is artificially limited to force microtransactions into a single-player game. It literally goes against the design of the game.
That doesn’t sound right to me. My first playthrough was blind. Me and a buddy ran straight to Nightsong in chapter 2 and got a flag that warned us to check the rest. We managed to save the prisoners and then go do the nightsong.
blocks you out of content for no reason
Example? Most of the sequential questing is necessary for the complex narrative of a tabletop campaign.
I like how you had to make up shit I didn’t say to get mad about and justify yall making asses of yourselves in defense of exploitative capitalism.
You don’t like that your shameful behavior has been called out and need an excuse to cope.
What an ironic point to make with 0 context.
Nintendo is the original gacha / lootbox developer. You must not remember their original big money maker was selling randomized packs of collectible cards to children, a practice they are still perfecting to this day.
Nintendo has 10x the market share of any other gacha game too, so even if others are more exploitative, they aren’t causing as much overall damage due to market share.
Yes, I am acknowledging that in my comment. I’m saying I don’t understand how people stomach this garbage, and I stated the specifics of what I found so repulsive in the co sumption of their products.
Where is the insult here? I called yall out after yall trash talked first. Yall start shit but don’t like it when it is addressed.
Play better games is my recommendation. Have a better frame of reference lmao. That will help you understand why a 30-hour Nintendo title charging $70 doesn’t even compete with modern $15 indie titles.
Yes, a comment on a board is shouting outrage.
Shout your outrage elsewhere. Yall are desperate for a personal insult to avoid confronting the conversation about Nintendo.
Nah, tetris is literally still going. Today is too diversified to compare success with success of pre/early internet eras.
