Honest question, why should I be paying for a music streaming app when I already have YouTube premium? Also, does no one use Pandora anymore? I still use it occasionally.
Same great Dharma, new SolarPunk packaging!

I’m probably misremembering, but I swear our phonebook was at least 5 inches thick. We used collect the neighbors because they didn’t want them, and then me and my friends would stack them in the club house we chairs.
Mind if I DM?
I’m not the most familiar with the story, so many I’m remembering wrong. But I googled it to make sure before I posted that.

Hey, fellow Tennesseean anarchist. I lived in Erwin for a while, as well as Kingsport. Closer to Knoxville now. Are you still local?
Unicoi county went for Bernie in the 2016 primaries. It’s a very small town that has gone through a lot of shit trying to claw it’s way out of horrendously bad politics in the 80s and prior. Bumpass cove, where I’m sure some of worst damage was, was the site of nuclear waste dumping, and has been the nucleus of a major swing to the left for a lot of people in the area. Right down the road is Johnson City, a very progressive college town. Dumping on the victims of a disaster because their neighbors, or even they, have shitty politics is a shitty thing to do. Maybe those school kids deserve to get shot because their grandpappy is a Republican? Yes, moments like this should be catalysts for change, but victim blaming isn’t the route to take to that.
Yay! I’ve wanted to pay OOT and MM 3DS versions forever, and never got the chance. Tried to get the emulator working a few months ago, and just could not make it happen. Maybe I’ll be able to with this
Our entire planet has been organized around a cold, calculating science of cruelty. Honest to God, if we lived in a better society and you wrote a book about how we do things, it’ll never become popular. Too unbelievable that anyone would tolerate the way we do things.
Yeah, me and mama both share a tendency towards that. I have to be very careful around gambling, so does she.
And hey, thanks! Yeah, life is swell most days :) Hoping the same for you
Very true! Haha
When I was around 22 or so, my mom won a free tablet from a contest online, and got this absolutely terrible android tablet, even by then current (2012) standards. But it did have angry birds. She played so much angry birds that it had noticable grooves in the plastic of the screen from aiming. Lol
My dad (clean now!) decided to try crack at 40 and spent the next 15 years taking us on a wild ride of addiction and absolutely bullshit. I’d definitely take a game addiction over that. Lmao
You poor thing. I’m so sorry! That sounds genuinely terrible
My mom got so frustrated at how often I needed batteries for my walkman, my Gameboy, my other toys, and my little stereo I won at the library, that she replaced all of our batteries with a bunch of rechargeables she bought in bulk. All my friends were so jealous
Born in 91, I had a walkman. Got a disc man when I was like 10, but never used it because a, it skipped like a mother fucker it I was walking, and b, cassettes were so much cheaper. I used to listen to books on tape from the library while walking around my town. My mom was a badass who replaced all our batteries with rechargeables and I would even listen to them while sleeping using the walkman instead of the stereo haha
Also, I never rewound a vhs by hand, always used the VCR or the dedicated tape rewinder shaped like a racecar haha
Absolutely, but the general populace has so much information thrown at them all day, every day, I really do think most people would just move on from it, because our brains just can’t handle everything all at once. Unless there’s some specific reason to think about it, we’d move on to the things that impact us more directly.
It reminds me of that thing they do on Jimmy Kimmel, where they ask people about fake news stories, and the people invent answers. It’s funny and all, but they do that because it’s considered embarrassing not to know about the whatever the fuck insane thing the news just threw at us, while also there being so much of it that it’s impossible to remember everything. Plus, we’re super suggestable creatures
Thanks!
But don’t feel too badly. Honestly, it’s almost a good thing. Without someone stoking the fires of hatred, that same adaptability means that we’re super capable of accepting each other.
I absolutely welcome our new alien overlords
Just like women vote the same as their husbands? We’ll practically double the line length at the polls if we give women the vote, and their votes won’t really matter, because it’s the same as if their husbands or fathers just voted normally. Not worth the effort.
Not being an ass, it’s just that every single argument I’ve ever seen against lowering the voting age has been almost identical to the arguments used against women voters back in the day. I’m not suggesting you’re against women having the vote, just that the arguments are similar, and pointing that out helps to demonstrate why they might not as strong as some would think. Teenagers are also notoriously capable of disagreeing with their parents on political issues. It’s sort of a thing with them often enough.
Totally agree about access to voting. Automatic registration at 16, coting day a national holiday, polls should be open for at least a month, with every post office a polling place, and government run bussing to and from polling places, and mandatory paid time off for wt least 1 day in that month. Universal suffrage. Including incarcerated people. Honestly, nothing should be able to interfere with your right to vote. I go back and forth on compulsory voting, but tend to lean towards it. And this is coming from an Anarcho communist, who doesn’t generally believe we’re ever going to fix things through the ballot box.
I’ve been daily driving fedora for a few years now, but I never really get deeper into anything than opening Firefox, and a few Gnome extensions. Haha
Yes. I see people with multiple subscriptions, including like yt and Spotify, and I don’t understand why. Lol Do the offer services offer something other than just ad free listening that you wouldn’t get with yt music?
