Canary Islands. Great place, but the mass tourism is actually killing them, provoking skyrocketing rent and shortages of power and water.
Is this bill going to be voted by the previous representatives or by the ones we just voted? Because that page shows the ones who are leaving.
Not “an”. Plural.
I would have agreed some time ago, but they’ve shot the prices through the roof lately.
I’ll have you know, I have pretty high standards to consider someone an expert.
I’ve been there on tour once, and I just looked at an online map to make sure I didn’t misremember. I also follow a guy on YouTube that talks about geology and has been focused on Iceland lately, so I think that makes me a complete expert.
Oh, no! You’re meeting all of them!
To anyone acquantinced with Iceland: What kind of logistical issues does this actually provoke? What measures do you typically (or exceptionally) take to make sure that no location runs unsupplied for too long?
You’ll soon be in the top 5% if you have a keyboard app installed on your phone
…Those won’t go away, right? People aren’t going to start talking on the bus for their phones to auto-type the text messages they want to send through chat, right…?
Not really? Bruxism is heavily linked with stress and anxiety, which we have too much of in our contemporary society (meaning: a drop of water in our whole evolutionary history), and it’s very rarely going to incapacitate anyone, so evolution doesn’t care, and has cared even less before civilization.
Is that causation or correlation?
It’s an amazingly click-baity headline.
Already mentioned below, but for better visibility: !world@lemmy.world has better moderation.
Literally got posted as I was complaining. Neat.
No one said Disco Elysium so far? What’s wrong with you, Lemmy?
Has No Solution for Its AI Providing Wildly Incorrect Information
Don’t use it???
AI has no means to check the heaps of garbage data is has been fed against reality, so even if someone were to somehow code one to be capable of deep, complex epistemological analysis (at which point it would already be something far different from what the media currently calls AI), as long as there’s enough flat out wrong stuff in its data there’s a growing chance of it screwing it up.
The first picture shows Fall, the second shows Guy.
AI and its consequences have been a disaster for Google.
This is my experience moderating communities as well. The worst trolls get a kick out of testing how far they can stretch the rules and provoke mayhem without getting banned. Excessively explicit rules also trample over people who would usually cause no trouble, but get too tense under exceptional situations.
They aren’t hostile in the same degree towards all groups. Sure, you may have people mock you on a voice chat after you get killed in a game, but the chances are nothing alike those of the harassment you will get for having a female voice.
Do you know what’s worse than stimulating your fear response? Stimulating your anger response. And millions of people choose do that daily in their interactions with social media.
