The master branch in git isn’t the same though. It’s closer related to the word “remaster.” Master used to mean the original document is still used everywhere in tech and outside of it.
Main makes more sense since a master copy should be something that doesn’t change in my opinion. But that’s semantics…
Our cats use it to beg for treats. Very rarely do I see them on it and not meowing for attention.
It’s valid, and it sucks. If you can even do $5, it’s worth it. But the world is absolutely against you right now. A lot of older folk don’t quite get how bad it’s gotten.

If I hadn’t saved, I probably would be dead right now. The US doesn’t really do healthcare or mental care, and I no longer can sustain myself. Long COVID is a bitch and doctors usually ignore it.
But if you’re banking on never having an emergency, go for it. There’s a balance to hit, at least in less developed countries like the US.
And of course that’s where the trail ends until it’s vetted enough to move forward.
Nice to see it kind of laid out. Still don’t know how to get past the hurtle of my brain no longer working, but maybe I can still do it… Just slowly.
There are games I want to make. I caught long COVID and barely had energy for my job. I decided now that I got laid off for having an invisible disability, I can learn how to make games while I can’t get a new one, but I’m having issues thinking long enough to learn… I’ve almost started my game and that’s where I’m stuck.
In addition to Aezora’s response, extrovert vs introvert being a description of your attitude to socializing is only a colloquial use of the term. I am a shy extrovert. I do not get social energy by being alone, like an introvert does, and I have problems talking with new people and even with friends prefer a back seat in the conversation.
Most people seem to fit into more clear buckets, if you believe the marketing, but that doesn’t make the buckets the definition.

In America, it appears to have started being in vogue during WWII as a way for single moms whose husband is overseas to have less to take care of. After a bit of coercion, my parents admitted the hospital did it without even their consent. That does sound a lot like [insert birth state here] in the [insert birth decade here] so I didn’t question it.
I love discord, for what it’s for. Quick synchronous talks you will never refer back to again. So not software development where indexable logs of information are necessary. I know discord has indexing, and now some form of forum. But every discord I’ve been to for development (especially modding communities) has a large corpus of synchronous logs where people get annoyed if you ask a question that was answered one before a long time ago with extremely common language making it nearly impossible to search for because the keywords have been used out of context of your question hundreds of times since the question was asked.
If the Dev communities used the forums mode in discord more, it wouldn’t always solve it, but it’d be much better. There are better places than discord for these things, but I have been trying to meet people where they’re established.
/prəˈrɒgətɪv/ Huh. I guess usually when a schwa and a rhotic is involved, my dialect drops it. I pronounce it /prˈrɒgətɪv/ which could be romanized to pur-ROH-guh-tiv. But there’s no actual separation between the u and the r there.

This is tip culture standard. The company is only required to pay enough such that tips plus pay meet minimum wage. CEO’s should have to work for tips given by their employees in order to earn over minimum wage, change my mind.
Most boomers I know still can’t use a mouse. Millennials and gen X fill most of the old Internet in my mind, but the original '91 Internet was a lot of tech focused boomers, but also was significantly Gen X. '95-'99 seemed to pick up more traction with my generation.
As a cat owner, can confirm cats are always bad. The best bad decisions I’ve made, are my two little fuzz balls. And I hope they’re happy with me as well.

Not necessarily the case, but if it’s affecting your life so strongly, you might want to get checked by a medical professional.
Long COVID can destroy your life. Depression can destroy your life. Iron deficiency can ruin your life. A lot of things you might just think is just being tired may actually have a cause. Especially if simple fixes like “touch grass” style clichés do nothing for you.
It’s not always the answer, but it’s good to rule out in that case.
