They don’t have to take away your power if you stop yourself from using it first. Don’t willingly give up your voice.

“Significant other”. It’s a stand-in for any partner (boy/girlfriend, husband/wife, commonlaw, fuckbuddy, etc)
That’s a stage name. I assume some of the others on the list are too.
Not only wouldn’t he see a punishment, but he’d be elected a second time to do it again!
A 20 year old car can be perfectly functional.
Not if the car manufacturers get their wish. They’d love to force you to buy a new car every few years. Having tech installed that becomes obsolete fast would help make you upgrade.
They won’t, but they bought me a brand new shiny copy of Linux Mint.
Fascism is something to be alarmed about! It’s an existential threat to democracy!
And this is exactly what’s wrong with the Democrats, and why Biden never should’ve run. They’re too comfortable in their big houses with all their money and privilege. They have no fucking idea what it’s like for most Americans, and clearly they don’t care because they’ve never had to. There is no party in the US to fight for regular people, so they didn’t vote.
And democracy never comes back peacefully. Dictators never give up their power. The only way to bring it back is through revolution. Many more lives will be lost just to bring what the voters gave up this week.
That’s not hypocritical. That’s reaching your target audience.
That’s what you’re for.
I got here because my parents fucked.
I’m shocked that the people who stand to benefit from it have a different definition than we do.
i’m sure they’d be fine with it if it were their kids on the receiving end, right?
I ditched Microsoft on my new build back in Feb. I installed Mint and it’s been a really smooth transition for me. I can still do everything I used to, although I know there are some use cases where it’s a problem for people. All the games I’ve tried run well.
But it does give me peace of mind that someone isn’t going to change my settings in a way that benefits them in a patch. I feel like I’m working with my OS to get things done instead of wrestling against what some corporate MBA wants.
I despise advertising. I won’t sit through ads telling me I’m missing out, or my life would be much better if only I had x. How much of our lives is spent listening to someone try to convince us that we need some product? And somehow they’ve convinced us that wasting our time with their bullshit is ‘normal’. Being marketed to constantly is not normal.
They’re obviously dead before they put the them out at the grocery store. I bet you don’t see yours running around outside either.
functioning democracy
That’s exactly why it’s divisive. They don’t want a functioning democracy.
All those sci-fi novels were meant as warnings not instruction manuals
You’re in a thread about MS fucking up and you’re annoyed that people are… [Checks notes]… complaining about MS fucking up? What exactly did you come here expecting?
And then wait for the next right-wing psychopath to buy up that one? You can’t jump off Twitter to another privately held platform and not expect the same to happen there sooner or later.
