From all I’ve seen, this is a very cool game, I’ve just never had the opportunity to play through it for myself other than a demo on the original Xbox.

I think it’s available on Steam. I’ll pick it up and give it a go!

And yeah. So many people that I recommended it to thought it was just AoE 2 again. But as you say, it actually has a ton more complexity. And the map editor and storylines were pretty awesome too.

All excellent choices from the ones I know. I particularly love galactic battlegrounds (also you’re the first person I’ve met that’s ever heard of it!) And Episode 1: racer.

You seem to have good taste, so I’ll check out Rogue Squadron and Phantom Menace!

And obviously these are just my opinions, I can’t fault anyone else for what they prefer.

My personal overall fav is Kotor 2. It’s so good.

You may be confused with “That time I got reincarnated as a slime”. “I’ve been killing slimes for 300 years and accidentally maxed out my level” is fairly different

Barely anything was left in the library by the time it burned down. It’s quite a myth that all that much was lost at all. By the time of its destruction, most of its books and knowledge has been moved elsewhere due to decades of reduced funding and support.

Furthermore, the burning did not destroy the entire library. It was a gradual process over a long period of time. What destroyed far more of the books is a lack of care to copy them. Paper and papyrus don’t last that long, so the only way to permanently maintain them was by copying them out again. Which is a lot of work.

I don’t say this to be edgy or confrontational, but it’s not like that for everyone. I am 26 and have no idea how to empathise with people, it’s not an innate thing for me and I have to put a lot of effort into learning it.

No, I doubt it. Because they wouldn’t keep it true to the originals. They’d change the characters and the story and cut out sections and add in new things and replace the combat and make it fundamentally not the same game anymore. Especially when it’s not being made by the original makers.

Also, graphics aren’t a selling point for me in games.

Not a shame, imo. Any remake would ruin it by changing things, I’m glad this has happened as you are right that the games are the best star wars stories. They’re also my favourite games in general, especially TSL.

Does Jellyfin have the credit and intro skips? Also how does it handle music?

To be fair to Starfield, if you’re playing on the recommended hardware it runs incredibly well. I’m running a 7900xt and a Ryzen 7600X and the lowest fps I have with everything on ultra at 1440p is 80, don’t need any mods.

Edit: also Diablo 4 sucks because they turned it into another MMO with a battlepass that nobody wanted.

Logically this is a solid move for them, but I always hate to see more games on Unreal. Consolidation of the industry into one engine is not good overall, and any company that still works with its own engine I have a lot of respect for.

Personally I don’t like SkyUI, I prefer the base game UI. But I have to use it because so many mods require it :(

Thank you! Unfortunately I’ve tried multiple cables with different lengths, as well as DP and HDMI, different GPU’s and different OS’s, iGPU vs discrete, the only common failure is the monitor. Unfortunately it’s happening on both of them, same model of monitor and seems to be a common flaw. They are about 6 years old now though

Yeah for me personally it’s not a subtractor to the experience. For one, they make those menus super convenient.

But then, as somebody who’s played quite a lot of Elite Dangerous, I don’t really feel there’s that much missing. I know lots of people will disagree with me here, but whilst I agree it’d be awesome to be able to fly from planet to planet, most of the other games that do this it’s just flying at a dot in space, waiting until the number next to it gets smaller. Space is big, and really really empty. And while I would still enjoy having that aspect in the game too, I think it’s not a bad tradeoff for having much more immersive planets, cities and gameplay. Also most of Elite Dangerous is sitting in a ship traversing menus, selecting a planet and then jumping there. While you can’t directly fly between, Starfield has that same game loop. You can just select a planet, mark it as your destination, then jump into the cockpit, line it up and turn on the grab drive to jump to that place. So I feel that it lives up to my personal expectations.

I don’t want to invalidate anyone else’s feelings or expiriencds though. I’m having a ton of fun playing and seeing the Starfield universe. However I’ll leave an update if that changes.

Unfortunately I’ve tried a number of very expensive cables, as well as multiple graphics cards. The monitors used to be fine, but over time they started getting all these horizontal lines across the screen if I go above 100hz. I’ve also tried Mac and Windows and same problem with both.

I’ve looked it up though and seems to be a common problem for AOC Agon monitors, so my fault for cheaping out, even though they still cost me $550aud per monitor :(
