Thanks! That reminds me, I need to reinstall ShareX, I knew there was something missing after getting a new PC haha.
I love a good underdog story.
Buy into your home instance instead by setting up a recurring monthly donation. It’s doesn’t have to be a lot, some have tiers as low as $1. Alternatively, you could donate to the Lemmy dev team, or some of the devs that are creating these spiffy apps we’re using on our phones.
I’d also like to know, it looks pretty slick.
Hydrate it with water, that should help.
Gotta love the uBlock Origin extension on Firefox Android!
I’ll add my name to the invite lottery! Just got fiber internet, so can start seeding more.
Same, I migrated from Plex to Jellyfin about a year ago. It’s just as solid without any of the bloat, local authentication just in case the internet goes down, and transcoding isn’t locked behind a membership.
Not really, unfortunately. You’d have to create the community on a different instance, make a sticky post in the original community redirecting them to the new community, and then lock the community to prevent new posts. If you don’t have a lot of content in the original community, or don’t care about keeping it, you could delete the community after a week or two once people have subscribed to the new community to prevent confusion.
I almost made the rash, uninformed decision to close up shop on lemmy.world and move my community to another instance. Luckily I did some further reading, and yeah, unless whatever other instance I jumped ship to was also patched I would have just been wasting my time since this is a vulnerability in the Lemmy code and affects all instances until the admins apply a bandaid/the code is fixed.
They mostly come out at night…mostly.
I don’t see anywhere to donate at this time, I’d like to throw five bucks at the project every now and again. GitHub Sponsors may be an option, but there’s a wait list it looks like. A lot of third party clients don’t have a way to donate yet, which is unfortunate.
