Apollo. Everyone in my house did. Two have stopped using reddit entirely, I’m still checking on a couple of communities until their counterparts take off here. I’m using Dystopia there now because I’ll never, ever download their shitty app.

It’s necessary where I live too (inland Los Angeles) and we also keep our thermostat at 80 all summer. The summer power bills really hurt, but we have to. We’re unfortunately not in a position for solar financially but I really wish we were!
Upvoted for visibility! 🤪
We didn’t get it until the beginning of the year and it laid the household low. The younger people recovered more quickly than us middle-aged ones did. I think it was about two weeks before I really had my energy back.
It only took one person to take their mask off to eat indoors one time to get us all sick and he was really pissed at himself. 😐 We still mask because we have elderly parents, cancer patients, and a transplant patient in the family, and really don’t want to infect them.
Glad you’re feeling better!
No, it printed almost perfectly for me out of the box. The issues I’ve encountered are just the nature of 3D printing and not specific to the machine itself. Having it auto-level makes me almost cry with joy after 5 years of manually leveling with thumbwheels!
I wound up going with the Sovol SV06 Plus over the Ender 5 S1. Have you looked into that one yet? Biggest difference is it’s not a cube frame (which is one of the reasons I went with the SV06 instead).
Me either, so I started a community for a subject I’m interested in and follow on reddit and I’m populating it with new content as the news comes in so new people can catch up. Be the change you want to see. Interact with that content and post more of it. Don’t just complain that it’s not being fed to you.
ETA: I might add that I have no intention whatsoever of moderating that community in the long term. If/when Lemmy grows, if that community picks up, I’ll be looking for someone to take it over.
I’m not really into beans and shitposting, but I don’t mind my feed flooded (yet) because it’s always good to see people being active and having fun.
Ha, me too, I figured it was just chugging or something.
That’s my biggest concern, too. People are fuckin’ weird and you never know what will set them off. Some people just can’t stand any sort of disagreement or pushback and might want to retaliate. I really think the source should remain invisible to other users.
Thanks for the reminder! I signed up at sdf.org because I saw that r/bbs had moved over. As soon as I saw SDF’s website, which hasn’t had its look updated since the mid 90’s by my eye, I knew it was the one for me. I can tell they’ve been struggling a bit under the load but I appreciate so much that they’re hosting an instance and I have confidence they’ll get it all running smoothly. They’re a non-profit and I’ll be donating as soon as I’m able.
I do worry, though, that as the fediverse grows many of the instances won’t be able to scale up and will drop out. I’m not an admin or sysop and know nothing of how this works on the back end, so hopefully those fears are groundless.
Hopefully someone will come along and answer. Thanks. :)
Any tips for a sighted person on what makes for a good and useful description?
Seconding the Calibre recommendation!
That’s the issue I have with blocking NSFW too. I don’t want to see porn, but there is NSFW stuff I do want to see. You’re forced to throw the blanket over everything, regardless of what it is.
