It doesn’t say when the original ScanMan Color came out or how many colors it had but the Color 2000 didn’t come out until '96 and had a 24 million color pallette. So, yeah, sounds about right for the ScanMan 32.
I’m assuming the Scan Man 32 for Mac resulted in Game Boy Camera quality images.
