It’s all FOSS. Whoever gets doubts about the devs can check the source or have it checked by experts. They sell out or die? Switch to other frontends or forks. I’d never trust any dev blindly, but if I can choose between these ones and Google… well.
Passionate about cooking, traveling, nature photography, animals, technology and privacy.

Switched to piped/invidious. There are even a few good apps like Libretube or Freetube. No need to waste time with scripts and stuff.
Good thing I’m running my LLMs locally on a heavily encrypted PC with no network capabilities at all. Only way to not have my data siphoned, be it by hackers or big tech.
This. The more popular it gets, the more people come, the more trolls and idiots are beneath them, the more toxic everything gets…

Sure, it’s not as convenient as just licensing something out of the box. But at least you won’t get ripped off like this just because the one person in charge feels free to do whatever the fuck he or she wants.
The problem isn’t Unity, or even its CEO. The problem is greed. The problem is; they can dictate whatever they want because everyone depends on them. Use FOSS already. You should have done it long before this happened.

Doom, Wolfenstein 3D and Elite back in the mid-90s. Jagged Alliance 2 and Fallout 2 a few years later got me finally hooked.
I don’t think so. It’s just a little more inconvenient.
For example: I don’t need to see posts from friends to know how their day was. Instead, I just call them or meet them for a coffee and ask about their day.
The old fashioned ways still work well.
We can block you. Which I’ll be doing now.
Your life that boring for you to come up with the time and patience for posting this?
Jeez, you fit well into reddit.
Thanks.
I’m curious as well. I’d appreciate it if someone could share the mentioned post.
Well, shit. I liked them for being so open and communicative. Good thing I switched instances just right before that happened.
I guess then we have to agree to disagree.
