For all your owl related needs!
North Carolina is a lovely state, and I hope you’re able to bring a little more sanity back to it!
Thank you for voting, fellow battleground stater! My voter sticker went through the wash, but I cast my vote in PA as soon as I could in October.
Second for TP Link. I’ve been on TP Tapo lights for the last year and they’ve been pretty painless. Amazon puts them on sale pretty often. I mainly use them as a wake up light and to turn on the inside lights when I’m carrying in stuff at night.
Intensity is a good word to describe that element. I feel the show is willing to bump off characters, but 2 of the leads have survived too many close calls and it lowers the stakes a good bit.
The individual that showed up with the surprise faction really threw a wrench into things that I enjoyed though!
I don’t recall how I heard about For All Mankind, and I never see it mentioned very much, but I have had such a great time watching that.
It’s an alternate history of the space race from the 60s onward, and it’s so exciting to watch what could have been. Each season jumps forward a decade, so the advances in missions and tech keep leaping forward.
If you grew up thinking we should be pioneering space by now, you will probably enjoy it.
Very interesting. There seems to be a lot of rules, but they all at least make good sense and look after the birds.
What do you do with what they catch? Is it mainly rodent and birds, or do they catch stuff like rabbits or squirrels that people eat?
Can you actually buy raptors? I was under the impression they were all caught wild, and then had to be released after a certain time period.
I did see though when I looked up “wild take” that means removing pre-fledged birds from the nest. They can’t be sold though.
The state regulations I pulled up said out of state birds could be brought in, but not released. Do people just import birds from other countries with poor rules?
Summit is a wonderful app, and the dev is super helpful. Can’t recommend Summit enough.
Stop, you’re being too safe! 😂
The only times anyone is to be criticized for signally is if it is waaaay before where you’re actually turning so that people think you just bumped the stalk or if you just leave it on and don’t know it.
Not only this annoyance you mentioned, but my personal little saying is that turn signals aren’t just for the benefit of who you see, but more importantly for anyone you don’t see!
You should have already made sure you’re clear of everyone before you think about leaving your current path. Using the indicator is a preventative measure for the sake of yourself and anyone in a blind spot or that you failed to notice.
Ahh, well from what I hear, they make a top quality product, so I’m glad you’re giving yourself the best!
I supposed I left myself open for something like this! 🤣
Drag threw me for a loop the first time drag replied to me. I assumed it was a bit at first because this is the Internet and all, but I looked at drag’s history to see what the story was, since it’s not like anyone gives an introduction before commenting.
Other than the pronouns, Drag’s posts are like anyone else’s. Nothing was trollish, and Drag has explained drag’s pronouns a few times. It’s interesting to see drag’s idea is to create something simpler, but as it is not very English in structure, it sounds very strange at first. I think I’ve gotten the idea now, though I have had to make a few corrections as I type this.
First, I think people should be able to be whoever they want to be, especially online, if they aren’t doing things to be jerks. Drag has not done anyone wrong that I’ve seen. So if Drag asks me to call drag by something, why wouldn’t I? Drag has engaged with me in a friendly way, so I owe drag the same.
Second, I enjoy it as a creative exercise. It keeps my mind engaged while writing what would otherwise be a bland reply. It’s kind of fun to see language experience some flexibility and evolution, and if it honestly makes Drag feel better about drag’s self, I can accommodate that. If you can’t abide that, just move on and let Drag live drag’s life.
Even though most of us are liberal here, it doesn’t mean we’re free of bias or not stuck in our own ways. Even if we don’t get something, it doesn’t hurt us to cooperate with someone that it does make sense to. That’s just my feelings though.
I don’t have it installed right now, as I’ve been trying out a FOSS reader for a while now on my new phone, but there is a troubleshooting section about syncing on their site, and also they recommend this guide made by a user discussing sync troubleshooting.
It’s not a feature I’ve used, so maybe those guides have something you haven’t tried. Since you replied to me though, I feel partially responsible for making sure you get helped now. 😅
I will second Moon Reader and Web Video Caster.
I agree with hand washing as best to prevent any chains catching in lacey bits. If daily is a pain, maybe do it once a week. Just put a little detergent in the bathroom sink and give a few swishes and squeezes and hang them on something like this.
If you do want to toss them in the washer, I’d use a lingerie laundry bag and just toss in a few, again to minimize potential snags or tangles and run on the delicate cycle and hang dry. It’d suck to toss a bunch in loose and pull out a big tangled ball. 😧
Came here to make sure For All Mankind was mentioned. I had so much fun watching this.
The bagel place is like that sometimes where they haven’t made the buzz yet and they let us pick. The Jamaican place has seemed the same every time, but it’s a great portion of assorted items. We also got good stuff from a vegan, non-every allergen place. The prices were premium, but the stuff was really tasty, and even though we didn’t have special diet restrictions, other family members do, do we could promote it to them. We’ve also gotten to try different things we don’t normally order, like we get a big bag of pepperoni rolls from a pizza place, and the other place is the sausage food truck thing outside Home Depot which was actually really tasty.
Only once did we feel a place was a little less generous, but it still wasn’t a bad deal for the price, just in comparison to other grab bags.
It’s got us to try both local stuff we’ve never gotten to check out, and also things a little further away than we’d normally go to because it’s a cheap adventure with really nothing to lose.
Web Video Caster is probably my most used app. It casts just about anything to just about anything. It’s worked better than anything else on my Chromecast and when I’ve needed to connect to Roku.
It supports IPTV, playlist creation, bookmarks, watch history, recent played, resume from last position, and a ton more.
The dev has been great whenever I’ve reported bugs and has added a few requests over the years.
Too Good To Go has been awesome since I heard about it on How I Built This. It’s designed to reduce food waste, but I think that makes it sound less appealing than it is.
Participating eateries estimate how much product they will have to throw out at the end of the day. It’s not bad stuff, but stuff they made too much of. Instead of tossing it, they set it aside, and you come take it for pennies on the dollar. No extra work for them, cheap mystery box of eats for you.
We’ve tried many fancy local bakeries we couldn’t really afford, tried new local pizza places, got some great frozen treats and an ice cream cake from the premium ice cream place, and some great Jamaican takeout from a place near my work that’d normally be out of the way.
We also stock up on bagels from the Manhattan Bagel. They’re normally around a dollar each, but we get 15-18 for $5 and then we freeze them. Been doing that for months now, saving a ton of money. Sometimes we get misshapen ones, it flavors we don’t really like, but we still come out way ahead, or we learn different ways to use things, like the salt bagels we didn’t originally like.
Different job, but same scenario. I hook things up to a machine, run it an hour, swap the next units in, repeat until done. Sometimes there’s other stuff to do, but the basic job is mostly waiting.
