Also don’t you get a pop up on iOS when apps actually try to do one of these things? Like I have weather apps that clearly say that track my location, but it still gives a pop up asking to use your location when you actually start using it.

Well yeah, the US is set up for giant corporations to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible regardless of how much it will fuck over the customer, bonus points if fucking over the customer doesn’t include immediate proof of physical harm to said customer.
Get a big outdoor box fan you see people rock in their garage gyms, cover the side that blows air out with a screen. Any mosquito flying near will get sucked in and stuck in the screen. At the end of the day/night spray the screen with rubbing alcohol.

They might be looking for something specific. Like they are investigating an individual, or network of individuals, and this is just a piece of that investigation. I doubt they are asking for this to randomly look for opportunities to charge people with a crime related to piracy.
Interesting, thanks for the fun fact! My kid is absolutely obsessed with learning all things about animals so I’m keeping stuff like this on deck for when he’s a little bit older and can understand. I’ve learned more about animals in the last year watching videos with him than all through school, which is equal parts sad and awesome.
