While I agree in principle with the lawsuit, it is interesting that this is the game that people are suing over. I heard the hype and downloaded the crew 2 and it was complete dogshit of a game. I don’t mean from the perspective of finish, just the that the game, as intended, sucked ass. This isn’t the only ubisoft game like this, I don’t know how they manage to generate so much hype and fanfare around these tuberculosis vomit games over and over again.

I agree. I only have shallow knowledge of 40k, but the exploration of the history around the universe was very fascinating. I also think it’s interesting that this issue seems to occur with satire, particularly when involving fascism. It brings to mind starship troopers and the more recent helldivers, how so many miss the point. I can’t help but feel the glorification of the military and military service in many of today’s societies lends itself to this problem. The military is inherently authoritarian, against diversity (including diversity of thought), and intentionally dehumanizes “the enemy” (turns out, it isn’t easy to kill people). Couple this with an image of masculinity that centers around adversity at best, and violence at worst along with so many men who feel they have missed opportunities to meet this standard and you have a recipe for fascists. How do we address this within our society? I don’t have the answers, but we should all be thinking about it.

I’m empathetic if you’re lonely, but this isn’t the time or place. Take your ass to a bar (you can order food/non-alcoholic drinks if you like), and you can run your mouth to the patrons there. You can also go to parks, live sports, live music, hobbie/enthusiast events, etc. All these events have people you can mingle with, but fucking lines with captive employees and other people tattooed behind you trying to conduct business isn’t the place.

What hairnet to this young man is unfortunate, and I know the mother is grieving, but the chatbots did not kill her son. Her negligence around the firearm is more to blame, honestly. Regardless, he was unwell, and this was likely going to surface in one way or another. With more time for therapy and no access to a firearm, he may have been here with us today. I do agree, though, that sexual/romantic chatbots are not for minors. They are for adult weirdos.

I won’t play forza online anymore, rammers just ruin the entire experience. I understand incidental collisions, but that intential shit just isn’t fun. They really need to implement a system that can track intentional ramming and match those people with each other so they are stuck in a rammer hell, and the rest of us can just enjoy the game. Ideally, the system wouldn’t be visible and account bound so it will follow you in the sequels. This way way the people who get joy out of ruining things for others are only ruining things for other assholes.

Those games did well, it doesn’t mean the genre is among the most popular and i bet they didn’t approach those level of sales. I wasn’t throwing shade, that’s just facts. I also mentioned ubis or reputation adding to this.

I think there is some confusion here. The game genre is “2d platformer,” I wasn’t referring to where people can play it. It isn’t the most popular genre of gaming, and it’s quite different from ubisofts’ other titles.

As a company pushes people away it gets harder to pull them back, so that doesnt take away from their complaints. Also, I’m not sure that the same crowd who plays other ubisoft titles is the crowd that’s interested in a 2d platformer.

Wasn’t it all mobile games? I’m pretty sure that was the exact market they were looking for. People with short attention spans that can’t put down the phone, even while consuming other media.

This is all a misunderstanding! The high price IS the regular price. We lower the prices at certain times to benefit our customers, who we love so very much. This is totally not surge pricing!

I’ll give you that, but that other commenter seemed to think it wouldn’t be “fair” if another employee used it, and they didn’t, which is a very childish notion. Depending on severity and duration, I could even see it being a talking to. I do also see not being able to find this employee suitable for a position of trust, which they may have been in given their salary. If the employer can’t trust you to self-regulate on something as simple as a meal voucher, I don’t see how they could trust you at large.

I’m just explaining how the real world works. For instance, I supervise other employees. Their hourly rate is lower than mine, however, the real cost of many of the employees I supervise far exceeds my real cost. How? Well, some have dependants and they are included on their health insurance. Beyond that, some have chosen different providers or higher option plans than I have. There are other benefits that can increase their real cost to the employer. Does that mean my employer owes me the difference in cash or other tangible rewards based on how I choose to take advantage of the benefits offered? What if I chose not to contribute to my retirement, do they owe me that match percentage, even though that’s not his it’s outlined? This is absurd. There are problems with capitalism and corporations in this country, but expecting people to follow simple guidelines regarding a meal voucher isn’t one of them, especially for well compensated employees. Realistically, meta could probably refer this to the local police as fraud if they chose to.

This was for sites that didn’t have a cafeteria. They offered this as a way to provide food, while on-site, if the employee would like to. This childish notion that “sOmBoDy GoT mOrE tHaN mE!” is ridiculous. This wasn’t supposed to be for personal monetary gain. Employees with sites that had cafeteria are not handed cash or allowed to select household goods if they choose not to eat at the cafeteria. This isn’t something that should really have to be explained to grown-ass adults making 400k a year. This is just an extreme level of entitlement and I can’t believe people are making me defend a company who’s products I refuse to use.

I don’t think you’re an idiot, I was asking because I was curious if there was precedent for a jackass conspiracy minded employee handing out medical advice causing liability for a business.
