I know early-access is a contentious subject, but the developers have been pretty steady with updates.

I got them on sale for around $110. They might be expensive for wired earbuds, but still cheaper than nice wireless earbuds, including the Fairbuds this post is about. Also, the cables are replaceable in case they ever get damaged.

Not the same guy, but I don’t have trouble blocking outside noise with Etymotic ER3SE earbuds. They do go insanely deep into my ear though.

I was looking for this recommendation and would have made it myself if I didn’t find yours. My therapist specifically recommended it as a natural antidepressant. In interstellar space, there is on average 1 atom every cubic centimeter. In intergalactic space, there is on average 1 atom every 100 cubic centimeters. It’s a gradient, but much like the perfectly straight lines and flat planes in the original question, perfect vacuum is a theoretical construct that is impossible to achieve in our reality.

Just installed one recently. Got $500 back in a rebate from the electric company and will get 30% back in taxes at the end of the year. These incentives alone bring the cost down to an equivalently sized traditional electric water heater. I haven’t had it running long enough to see what the average electric bill reduction will be; however my last bill (and first full one with the new heater) was my cheapest in the 5 years I’ve been here ($125 vs $150 from the same month last year). I don’t expect it will take long to fully pay for itself compared to the highly inefficient 20-year old model it replaced.

Metal forks are the problem. Sparking occurs between the sharp tips. Supposedly spoons are safe, but I don’t have any first-hand experience with this.
