About a decade ago, Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” projections of how far owners can drive before needing to recharge, a source told Reuters. The automaker last year became so inundated with driving-range complaints that it created a special team to cancel owners’ service appointments.

What I don’t understand is, given his industries he is part of, why he is cozying up to the political right. As far as I know, they’ve always hated “hippy dippy” electric cars. And rockets are “nerd” shit. So the pivot is very strange. It’s like a gay club trying to attract straight people.

CEOs and the rich in general are dictators at heart. They get their way through threats and violence. They and the right-wing are two peas in a pod.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a fuck about the underlying businesses, he only cares about clout chasing (cosplaying as dollar store Tony Stark) and making money, and his choice in industries reflects that: self driving cars and getting off world.

I don’t believe for one second that he actually believes in what he does, outside of taking over SpaceX to try to make a new South African Emerald mine colony on Mars.

Because a) he hates unions and the left supports organizing labor, b) he hates reflection and changing his behavior for others, another big thing on the left, c) he’s had a few instances where he’s been hurt and blamed the left, and most importantly d) he’s the same kind of internet troll as gamergaters

The right likes rockets when they’re used for military and also to provide dominance in space. The major space industry states are Florida, Texas and Alabama. What they don’t like is when we use space to do climate science

Florida is literally only part of the industry because of their geographic location. It’s easier and safer to launch eastward over a huge ocean with the Earth’s rotation.
