    To the extent that “Censorship” is just a fancy way of saying “keep it polite and don’t be asshole to each other”

    Technically true, but censorship in the classic sense implies that those censoring expression hold a position of power. I censor what one can say or do in my apartment, after all. If you want to go on a bigoted tirade in my home, I reserve the right to kick you out. Similarly, if I can ever get an instance spun up, I’ll be banning bigoted speech because hey… I can do what I like in my private space.

    I will defend the right to be free from government censorship of expression every day… but I will never feel obligated to provide anyone a soapbox to share their views.

    If one’s politics are rooted in hate, then you’ll certainly think you’re being oppressed if politeness is enforced. That’s a problem with one’s politics, not with the enforcers. :)
