It appears that there will be no ads and the only monetization is for advanced features. Assuming that actually is true that is a respectable way to monetize something.
Thanks to centralization that can change at any moment and people can’t do anything about it. We learned that from Twitter and Reddit and others.
At least personally I can just leave. It’s interesting that so many people get so entrenched in a service that they can’t go without it.
