Sci-fi and horror have historically focused on White protagonists and their experiences, leaving Black audiences disregarded by the mainstream. But Black fans of those genres have been here all along.

As a white person I’m super happy and supportive for the increased diversity. Not to mention how some of the best sci fi stories I’ve watched lately have been black! This can only improve sci fi
Not true for the Star Trek and Dune universes though (I am aware those are positive exceptions)
